A lot of people have this problem, including me where it is just hard to let go! A person who wants everything to be perfect will have a hard time trusting someone else to do it.
And that is where the problems start. Doesn’t matter if you are an entrepreneur or have people reporting you, you have a responsibility to complete a certain task. And you can’t do it all!
Sometimes people make this mistake is because they think the project is too complex for their team. But the irony is they might actually be a lot better than you are at it. And that would just leave you to work better on other things.
To overcome this state of mind it is necessary to know the strengths and weaknesses of the people on your team. It is also important to give your team an opportunity to grow by assigning them projects outside of their comfort zone.
This doesn’t mean you let go completely. Prepare a schedule, meet up with your team regularly and keep checking on the updates.
Delegating would not just make your life easier but also help them grow. It would build up the confidence in your team and push them to perform better!
When a person feels equally important part of a team it does make them perform better.
Delegating is not about giving up your power, it is about highlighting everyone else’s power in your team.
